Pan Fried Chicken Bites
My pan fried chicken bites recipe is easy and quick. You get flavorful, tender and juicy diced chicken breasts in under 20 minutes with only a few ingredients, a pan and stove.

I believe the best way to cook cubed chicken is in a pan on the stove and that’s why this chicken bites recipe is one of my family favorites and we make it often. They are great as appetizers and a main dish. They are versatile and can be served with most sides. We love serving it over rice or mashed potatoes.
Chicken breast bites are quick to cook. It takes 6-8 minutes to cook on the stove. This is a great option for making a quick meal that doesn’t require much work.
What To Know About This Chicken Bites Recipe
- This chicken recipe uses boneless skinless chicken breasts but can be substituted for chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless chicken thighs.
- The ingredients used are less than than 10. They are budget friendly pantry ingredients.
- The diced chicken bites are well seasoned, and cooked correctly so they turn out flavorful, tender and juicy inside, with a crispy outer.
- These pan fried chicken bites are high in protein, and healthier than deep fried chicken bites.
- Unlike chicken nuggets, these chicken bites have no breading, no flour, cornflour or breadcrumbs used in this recipe.
Ingredients
Boneless Chicken breast
Paprika
Garlic granules
Onion granules
Italian seasoning- Mixed herbs is a good substitute for this.
Black pepper- This can be substituted for cayenne.
Salt- Add this to taste.
Olive oil – Olive oil can be substituted for odourless cooking oil like sunflower, canola or vegetable oil.

Helpful Tips
- If you bought ready diced chicken breast or thighs, skip step 1 of the cooking instructions.
- If cutting, cut the chicken breast into cubes as similar as possible. I recommended using a sharp knife or kitchen scissors for doing this.
- I used 4 spices and herbs that go well with chicken in the seasoning but you can add 1 or 2 more of your favorite to customise the taste. You can even use any good seasoning of your choice.
- Use a pan that will fit in the diced chicken at once or cook them in batches. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
- You can add garlic butter sauce, buffalo sauce, bbq sauce, lemon pepper sauce or any of your favorite to the chicken in step 3.
- When cooked, rest the chicken for 4 minutes before serving. This time allows for the juice in the chicken to redistribute so you have tender, juicy chicken bites.
How To Cook Chicken Bites In a Pan
Step 1- Clean the boneless chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs, dry them with paper towels and cut into cubes of 1 inch each.

Step 2- Mix the paprika, garlic, onion granules, Italian seasoning, black pepper and salt. Add this to the diced chicken and mix till evenly combined.

Step 3- Place a pan on medium heat, add olive oil and heat.
Arrange the chicken into the pan and fry for 3-4 minutes. Turn the chicken and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
If you’d like to add sauce like garlic butter or bbq sauce, add it now, toss the chicken in the sauce and take off heat.

Step 4- Rest the chicken for 4 minutes, and serve.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers
Pack cooled leftovers into an airtight container, and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days or store it in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Reheat diced chicken bites in a microwave, or on the stove in a pan. To reheat in a pan, add the chicken to a pan, add water to the pan and cook ill the water dries up and the chicken bites are heated through inside.
